On January 14, 2020, an AFL-CIO Solidarity Center delegation composed of Rudy Porter – Regional Director, Laurie Clemens – Program Director for the Balkan Countries and Steven McCloud – Successor to Mr. Clemens visited the FSASH and SPASH education unions in Tirana.
Meeting attendants praised the cooperation to date and the progress of programs implemented on capacity building of both education unions. The prospects of enhancing the cooperation between the Solidarity Center and FSASH/SPASH as well as new projects to be implemented in the future were also discussed.
The guests from the Solidarity Center expressed their interest in the situation of education system in Albania and the role of education unions in providing quality education and in protecting teachers’ rights.
